About this award

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $2.476 million cooperative agreement to the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to support volcano activity relief efforts in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from June 2021 through June 2022. The funding was provided through USAID's Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas program (CFDA 98.001) to assist with economic growth, agriculture, trade, global health, and conflict prevention humanitarian efforts. Specifically, the award will support WFP's delivery of food assistance and emergency relief services to communities impacted by volcanic eruptions in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines during the one-year period of performance. As the lead UN agency for food assistance, WFP will leverage its expertise coordinating large-scale emergency food distribution to help meet urgent food needs arising from the natural disaster.
