The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a 3-year, $2,777,976 Cooperative Agreement under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) program. The purpose of this Cooperative Agreement is to improve the HIV response and ensure sustained epidemic control in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's (DRC) Haut-Katanga province. The prime awardee, Family Health International (FHI 360), will implement activities to decrease new HIV infections and reduce HIV-associated morbidity and mortality in the region. This will involve addressing factors that enable the uptake of HIV services at the provincial level to contribute to the global goal of ending the HIV epidemic as a public health threat by 2030.
