The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded a 5-year, $41M Cooperative Agreement under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) federal grant program to The Task Force for Global Health, Inc. The purpose of this award is to support research initiatives that address gaps and barriers highlighted in the WHO 2030 Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Roadmap, such as limitations in disease mapping, monitoring, diagnostics, and sustainable public health systems. The key focus areas are: 1) Fostering a network of local and international NTD researchers, 2) Defining and undertaking prioritized research to address identified gaps, 3) Improving the timeliness and quality of NTD research through subawards to local and endemic country institutions, and 4) Collaborating with the NTD donor community to ensure equitable and appropriate research support. Through this Cooperative Agreement, The Task Force for Global Health, Inc. will work to strengthen national governments, local research institutions, and NGOs in addressing critical challenges in NTD control and elimination efforts.
