Description

Activities
The proposed project includes coordination and execution of qualifier events and training to recruit, scout, and train an annual team of athletes to represent the US in the ICC. Events and training materials will be aligned to NIST and nice frameworks. Analysis will be conducted to determine the benefits of aligning training with the nice framework, looking for any gaps or areas in which competitions might inform updates to the nice framework and other career awareness building efforts.
Expected outcomes
Success in this project will result in US participation and recognition on a global cybersecurity platform. Mappings of content will provide improved insight on tasks, knowledge, skills, and competencies required in the cybersecurity workforce. Further, the project will provide NIST with a case study built to test and operationalize its frameworks as central tools for recruiting, training, and forming cybersecurity talent.
Intended beneficiaries
The nice program office at NIST will have direct input about how the nice framework can be used for training and in competition settings. The public will be provided with opportunities to participate in cybersecurity games and join a team representing the US on a global scale.
Subrecipient activities
There are no planned subawards.
