Description

Pacific aviation northwest offers flight instruction under part 61 of title 14, code of federal regulations with the assistance of our experienced staff of certified flight instructors (CFI) and certified instrument instructors (cfii), who adhere to all FAA guidelines and protocols. Our dedication is to improve our existing curriculum for high school students, equipping them with skills crucial for entering the industry as a pilot. We are establishing a comprehensive curriculum for training unmanned aircraft systems operators. By broadening our training programs to include these courses, with a focus on face-to-face education, were making them more accessible to those who are underserved in the community. Our strategy is geared towards empowering students with the skills essential for a career as an aircraft or remote pilot. The project will broaden the reach of high school students in response to the escalating demand for aircraft and remote pilots and increase the in-class training options for remote pilot training that is limited in the area. Our primary purpose is to foster a passion for aviation among students and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the potential career paths that can be attained through our training programs. The project will enable students from josephine and jackson counties, especially those from underrepresented rural areas to access training resources and expand their educational career opportunities. As the project evolves, we aim to extend its reach to neighboring counties in years to come. Measurable objectives will include (1) increased student outreach programs in both josephine and jackson counties. This will increase student enrollment for flight instruction with the final goal of them obtaining their pilot license. (2) create and execute a training program for unmanned aircraft systems operators that aims to enable students to acquire their remote pilot certificate. IT is also necessary to provide train-the-trainer instruction for at least one of our existing flight instructors. (3) recruit an outreach career counseling coordinator and a social media marketing coordinator to generate enthusiasm and increase awareness about various career path options. Hiring them will broaden our outreach activities in areas that have been underrepresented, creating access and opportunities that may otherwise go unnoticed. (4) establishing a modernized learning atmosphere, in both learning locations, by integrating cutting-edge resources like sophisticated technology, instructional tools, and comfortable physical facilities will foster a productive educational environment. Students will benefit from state-of-the-art technology, electronic devices, updated furniture, equipment upgrades, and flight simulation systems. The project objective will be accomplished by (1) staff will be equipped with promotional informational materials, and visual aids to promote at high schools, career fairs, fly-in and career days in the surrounding areas to engage educate students on options available. The timeframe will be the full duration of the program and will involve procurement and involvement. (2) curriculum options are presently being evaluated in our organization. The creation of a new program is expected to proceed seamlessly and be completed swiftly. Staff is ready to proceed with the necessary training. The unmanned aircraft systems operator program should be ready for students within 30 days of grant award. (3) staff recruitment will begive the 1ST day of grant award and should be completed within the first 30 days. (4) classes will be conducted in dedicated classrooms located at two airport locations. Classrooms will be updated with flight simulator equipment, computers, ipads, drones, and avionic upgrades (to existing aircraft) to learn the most current technology available. Classroom furniture will also be upgraded. The timeframe will be 1ST day to 75 days depending on delivery timeframes.
