The Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics awarded the Virginia Department of Labor & Industry a $186,953.40 cooperative agreement on October 1, 2025, under the Compensation and Working Conditions program (CFDA 17.005) to support occupational safety and health statistics collection and analysis.
The recipient will operate statistical programs dealing with occupational safety and health data, providing analysis and publication of workplace injury, illness, and fatality measures that inform employers, policymakers, and workers about workplace hazards. The award covers the period of performance from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, with place of performance in Virginia. The Compensation and Working Conditions program assists state and local governments in sharing costs for statistical work on occupational safety and health, enabling the Bureau of Labor Statistics to publish diverse measures of employee compensation, work stoppages, and research to improve measurement of workplace conditions under Section 24 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
