The Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service awarded a $295,845 Cooperative Agreement to Cornell University on February 1, 2026, under the Acer Access and Development Program (CFDA 10.174) to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops through marketing and promotion efforts and to assist producers with research and development relevant to specialty crops.

The recipient, Cornell University's Office of Sponsored Programs, will deliver the work through September 29, 2028. Performance takes place in New York. The Acer Access and Development Program supports states, tribal governments, and research institutions to promote the domestic maple syrup industry through research and education promotion and natural resource sustainability initiatives. Recipients may retain funds for up to three calendar years; a one-year extension to complete the project may be requested.
