The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a $298,289 Cooperative Agreement under the NSF Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships (TIP) program (CFDA 47.084) to Cleveland State Community College (CSCC) and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC). The award will fund the EXPAND TN: Explorations: Experiential Learning in Advanced Manufacturing towards Novel and Diverse Career Opportunities for Rural Tennessee Students program. This comprehensive experiential learning program will provide at least 120 dual enrollment high school students from rural counties in Southeast Tennessee the opportunity to explore careers in advanced manufacturing through a six-week integrated learning activity, industry tours, a career fair, and professional development. The program aims to (1) increase participants' interest and motivation to pursue engineering and technology degrees, (2) enhance their research skills and practical knowledge of advanced manufacturing, and (3) demonstrate a viable and sustainable workforce pipeline.
