The Action Researcher is an external position with a significant role in the design, implementation and evaluation of the Data Driven Opioid Response Collaborative (DDORC). The Action Researcher will be primarily responsible for guiding the Collaborative implementation process, including conducting interviews with all existing members, and new members as they join, assisting the Project Coordinator to address identified needs and gaps, developing meeting processes, establishing outcome objectives based on feedback, and supporting the development of performance measures for the project. Throughout the project, the Action Researcher will work closely with the Project Coordinator to complement and support the implementation and progression of the project. The Action Researcher will provide topical and technical expertise adopting the framework and core principles of the RxStat Model. She will lead the assessment and restructuring of the existing Task Force; support the integration of program evaluation framework into routine DDORC operations; and explore and promote innovative uses of available data to inform DDORC decision making and operations. The Action Researcher will also provide expert consultation in promotion of workgroup activities and initiatives and in design and implementation of behavioral health and harm reduction needs assessment and capacity building initiatives. The Action Researcher will also primarily be responsible for evaluation design and delivery, including securing human subjects review through an Institutional Review Board, and the preparation and presentation of all required evaluation deliverables. The Action Researcher will design and lead the evaluation through the different phases of the project, from its process as the collaborative is established, through a qualitative assessment of its impact, as described by the data and response outcomes that result. During Year 3, the Action Researcher will conduct a formal assessment of the Collaborative. This assessment will involve a facilitated discussion with the collaborative as a whole, interviews with key representatives, and an assembled analysis of the discussion and actions sponsored by the group over the period. Based on these data, the Action Researcher will produce an overall impact assessment for the project.
