The Kings County District Attorney's Office (KCDA) and Safe Horizons Anti-Trafficking Program (ATP) are the co-leads of the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force (BKHTTF), which received a $645,946 cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime (CFDA 16.320 - Services for Trafficking Victims) to support victim-centered, trauma-informed approaches to addressing human trafficking in New York and nationwide. The funding will be used to build capacity for law enforcement, victim services, medical, legal, education, and other sectors to improve and expand their response to trafficking, including through local and regional efforts as well as nationwide mentorship and best practice sharing.
