About this award
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), awarded a $490,183 Cooperative Agreement under the Services for Trafficking Victims program (CFDA 16.320) to the Seattle Police Department (SPD) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Washington. The funding supports a collaborative, victim-centered task force, the Washington Advisory Committee on Trafficking (WASHACT), to improve victim identification, provide access to services, and seek justice for survivors of all forms of human trafficking in western Washington. The project will develop and implement detailed protocols to guide collaborative work, and design and deliver training to partners nationwide. This multi-year initiative builds on a DOJ-funded effort since 2004 to coordinate the regional response to human trafficking.
