The Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force (VCHTTF) will receive $750,000 from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Victims of Crime under the Services for Trafficking Victims program (CFDA 16.320) to expand victim identification and service provision from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2025. The VCHTTF, co-led by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office and Interface Children & Family Services, will enhance its multidisciplinary collaboration and protocols to identify 107 victims to date of sex and labor trafficking, with the majority being Hispanic and Asian-American/Pacific Islander adult women. The funding will support the continued investigation of 67 cases and prosecution of 40 traffickers over three years, as well as the provision of comprehensive, trauma-informed, culturally affirming services to achieve safety, independence, and well-being for all victims served through the task force.
