About this award

The Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention awarded the City of Dallas a $848,825 cooperative agreement on October 1, 2025, under the Missing Children's Assistance program (CFDA 16.543) to support the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

The Dallas Police Department, which has led Northern Texas investigations of technology-based offenses against children since 1998, will continue investigating cybercrime targeting children, managing cybertips and referrals from the North Texas Task Force, building investigative and prosecutorial capacity within affiliate agencies, and promoting internet safety awareness. The Department will renew memorandums of understanding with formal ICAC affiliates in Northern Texas, providing financial support for their operations and working cooperatively to enhance child safety across Texas. Performance will be measured through monthly and semi-annual reports and other metrics required by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

Period of performance runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, with place of performance in Dallas, Texas.

The City of Dallas passed through funding to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center as a sub-recipient on February 11, 2026, to conduct investigation, prosecution, education, and counseling activities related to the Dallas ICAC Task Force response to internet-related sexual exploitation of children. The sub-award involves executive cooperative working agreements with various police departments, district attorney offices, sheriff offices, and the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center across the region.

Management and investigation of cybertips and other referrals made to the north texas task force each year will be the highest priority.
