The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) was awarded a $1.4 million cooperative agreement from the Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. The funding will support enhancements to Wisconsin's prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP or EPDMP) system to expand self-service functionality from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2025.

Specifically, DSPS will work with sub-awardee NIC Wisconsin to develop improved on-demand and interactive training materials, a testing sandbox environment, and enhanced administrative tools for the EPDMP system. The project aims to empower users to more efficiently interact with the system through new self-service features. This is expected to improve data quality, security, customer support and user satisfaction for data submitters, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals using the EPDMP. The funding will further Wisconsin's prescription drug misuse prevention strategy by increasing awareness and utilization of the enhanced EPDMP system capabilities.
