About this award
This Cooperative Agreement award of $294,483.00 from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) under the Public Safety Partnership and Community Policing Grants program (CFDA 16.710) will enable the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police to support the Northwest Accreditation Alliance (NWAA) in providing financial and staffing assistance to increase law enforcement agency accreditation in Oregon. The project aims to increase the state's law enforcement accreditation level by 12%, bringing it to 54%, by the end of the 24-month performance period from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2026. This effort is expected to provide a tangible incentive for agencies to become accredited by removing financial barriers and offering critical staffing support.
