This cooperative agreement funds assessment-related activities authorized by the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) Section 104(k)(2) across five Kentucky municipalities: Morehead, Mount Sterling, Frenchburg, Salt Lick, and West Liberty. Gateway Area Development District will deliver a comprehensive suite of brownfield site services, including inventory, characterization, and assessment of contaminated properties; competitively procured environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase II); cleanup planning and site-specific remediation alternatives analysis; and community engagement activities.
