About this award

Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 awarded a cooperative agreement to the City of Lancaster for $1.199690 million on February 1, 2026, to implement a wastewater infrastructure improvement project mandated by the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act under the Congressionally Mandated Projects program (CFDA 66.202).

The City of Lancaster will execute sewer line evaluation to identify critical areas for repair or upgrade, develop detailed engineering plans for new installations and upgrades, and construct new sewer infrastructure. The anticipated outcomes include reduced risk of wastewater overflows and backups, improved water quality in waterways, reduced infiltration and inflow, and enhanced resilience of sewer infrastructure to future growth.
