DESCRIPTION:THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES FUNDING TO SOUTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY TO IMPLEMENT ITS PROJECT TO REPLACE THE SEYMOUR WELLFIELD GENERATOR AS DIRECTED IN THE 2023 CONSOLIDATED APPROPRIATIONS ACT OR AS IDENTIFIED IN AN APPROVED TECHNICAL CORRECTION IF ONE HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR THIS PROJECT.ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED ARE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING DIESEL GENERATOR WITH A NEW DIESEL GENERATOR AND 72-HOUR FUEL TANK MOUNTED ON A CONCRETE PAD WITH A FABRICATED STEEL PLATFORM, GRATING AND HANDRAILS TO LIFT THE GENERATOR AND TANK ABOVE THE 100-YEAR FLOOD ELEVATION AND FLOODWAY. THE WORK ALSO INCLUDES A NEW PERIMETER FENCE, BOLLARDS TO PROTECT SENSITIVE EQUIPMENT, AND ALL UNDERGROUND AND EXPOSED CONDUIT WITH WIRING TO CONNECT THE GENERATOR AND ITS CONTROLS.SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES ARE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SEYMOUR WELLFIELD'S GENERATOR POWER SYSTEM, WHICH ARE EXPECTED TO LEAD TO IMPROVED RELIABILITY OF THE WATER SUPPLY, IMPROVED RESILIENCY OF THE SEYMOUR WELLFIELD BY UTILIZING A BACKUP GENERATOR LOCATED ABOVE THE 100-YEAR FLOODPLAIN AND ENHANCED BACKUP POWER SUPPLY CAPABLE OF OPERATING ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AT THE SEYMOUR WELLFIELD FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY WATER SYSTEM CUSTOMERS.
