THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WILL PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE TOWN OF GREAT BARRINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS TO INVENTORY, CHARACTERIZE, AND ASSESS BROWNFIELDS SITES WITHIN THE TOWN BOUNDARIES. THESE FUNDS, FOCUSED ON KEY SITES THAT WERE IDENTIFIED BY THE TOWN'S MASTER PLAN, WILL COMPLEMENT OTHER AREA-WIDE EFFORTS IN ORDER TO SET THE FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE REDEVELOPMENT. THE TOWN WILL WORK WITH PROPERTY OWNERS AND THE COMMUNITY TO IDENTIFY AND MITIGATE DEVELOPMENT CONSTRAINTS SO THOSE IDENTIFIED PROPERTIES CAN BE TRANSITIONED TO A HIGHER AND BETTER USE, MEET COMMUNITY NEEDS, AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY.
