About this award
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded Big Sandy Rancheria $198,663.07 on October 1, 2025, under the Child Care and Development Block Grant Discretionary program (CFDA 93.575). The award funds child care and early childhood development services in California through September 30, 2028. Big Sandy Rancheria, a federally recognized Indian tribe located in Auberry, California, serves as the tribal lead agency administering child care subsidies and quality improvement activities for families with low incomes. The Child Care and Development Block Grant provides discretionary funding to states, territories, and tribes to deliver child care services through vouchers or certificates and to enhance child care quality for both subsidized and unsubsidized children. Block grant recipients must submit three-year CCDF plans to ACF for approval and hold public hearings to allow community comment on service provision.
