The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded $723,366 to the State of Alaska Department of Labor & Workforce Development Administrative Services Division on October 1, 2025, under the Refugee and Entrant Assistance State/Replacement Designee Administered Programs (CFDA 93.566), a block grant providing cash and medical assistance to eligible refugees and entrants.
The award funds reimbursement for cash assistance, medical assistance, and medical screening provided to refugees, asylees, certain Amerasians from Vietnam, Cuban and Haitian entrants, victims of severe trafficking, Iraqi and Afghan Special Immigrants, and certain Afghan and Ukrainian humanitarian parolees during the first four months after arrival or eligibility. The recipient covers administrative costs associated with these assistance activities and serves unaccompanied refugee minors enrolled in care.
Performance runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027, with all work performed in Alaska. The recipient must submit an approved State Plan and annual Cash and Medical Assistance Program Estimates (ORR-1) to continue receiving funding. Effective October 1, 2025, the recipient follows requirements in 2 CFR Part 200 and HHS-specific provisions in 2 CFR Part 300, including recordkeeping in accordance with 2 CFR 200.334–.338 and audit requirements under 2 CFR Part 200 Subpart F.
