THIS POSITION WILL OVERSEE AND MANAGE APPROXIMATELY 40 VOLUNTEERS IN POLICE SERVICES (VIPS) WHO PROVIDE SERVICES IN THE AREA OF PATROL. REACH PROJECT (A NON-PROFIT AGENCY) TO ADMINISTER AND MANAGE THE YOURTH FOR POSITIVE CHANGE (YFPC), A PROGRAM TARGETING MULTIPLE OFFENDER JUVENILES WITH ATTENTION TOWARDS JUVENILE VIOLENCE INTERVENTION. MOREOVER, THIS WILL ENABLE THE DEPARTMENT TO BOLSTER FIRST-RESPONDER SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY, ENHANCE VARIOUS LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAMS, AND SUPPORT EFFORTS TO ATTRACT AND RETAIN AN ALL-INCLUSIVE AND ACCOUNTABLE LAW ENFORCEMENT WORKFORCE. CITY OF RICHMOND WILL PURCHASE SAFETY EQUIPMENT SUCH AS BALLISTIC BODY WORN ARMOR, CARRIER VESTS, BALLISTIC SHIELDS AND MOBILE DATA COMPUTERS (MDCS) FOR THEIR PATROL CARS.
