Description
IT is imperative that the officers are equipped to deploy into any situation, including those that involve hazardous airborne contaminants. The city of goodyear is the home of the goodyear phoenix airport and several manufacturing plants. Goodyear is also located close to luke airforce base and assists with events that occur at the base. Because of this, the department has an initiative to ensure that every officer is equipped with essential equipment to allow them to respond and maintain a presence in the event of an airborne pollutant or toxic gas release. The department is seeking grant funding to support this initiative to procure masks for the patrol unit who act as the first line of response to incidents within the city and assist with response to surrounding cities.
