This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.APG-ADL-B.5152.206-4400 INTENT TO SOLICIT ONLY ONE SOURCE (FEB 2015)The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government is soliciting and negotiating with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a) as applicable]. The name of the company the Government intends to award a contract to is Taber Extrusions, LLC 915 S Elmira Ave Russellville, AR 72802-9640. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received prior to the closing date and time of this solicitation.(End of clause)(ii) The solicitation number is W911QX-16-T-0109. This acquisition is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ).(iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect tough Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-87.(iv) The associated NAICS code is 331318. The small business size standard is 750 Employees.(v) The following is a list of contract line item number(s) and items, quantities and units of measure, (including option(s), if applicable):CLIN 001- Quantity one (1) AMX602 Alloy Plate manufactured using a Spinning Water Atomization Process (SWAP)(vi) Description of requirements: Spinning Water Atomization Process (SWAP) powder plate is a technology that has generated the development of new, high performance, military-grade alloy. There is no other technology that can provide the high combination of strength and ductility in Magnesium (Mg) alloy bars.(vii) Delivery is required No Later Than (NLT) thirty (30) days After Received Order (ARO). Delivery shall be made to 321 Colleran Road Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Acceptance shall be performed at 321 Colleran Road Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Added: Mar 02, 2016 9:51 am A. Objective To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed in section 11B. Note that the specific requirements in section C are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. B. Technical Specifications The Government requires quantity one (1) twelve inch by twelve inch by one inch (12”x12”x1”) thick Magnesium (Mg) Alloy (AMX602) plate. The plate must yield an Ultimate Tensile Strength of 400 Mega Pascal (MPa) and a ductility of twenty percent. Currently, the only known manufacturer to yield the aforementioned specifications is Taber Extrusions.
