The Food and Drug Administration awarded a purchase order to Bioanalytical Instruments Inc. for one Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR) on September 29, 2026, with a ceiling value of $49,973. The awardee is a minority-owned, Hispanic American-owned small business.
The instrument will be delivered to the San Juan Medical Products Laboratory in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FTIR system must be newly manufactured and meet specified technical requirements including an 8,000–350 cm⁻¹ spectral range, 0.45 cm⁻¹ spectral resolution, 40,000:1 signal-to-noise ratio, thermoelectrically cooled DTGS detector, and ATR with XR Diamond Crystal Plate.
