The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded a $83,754 firm fixed price purchase order to Compumedics USA, Inc. to deliver a Compumedics Neuroscan SynAmps RT 64-Channel Amplifier System. The equipment will support an ongoing VA-funded research study being conducted at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charlotte, NC aimed at developing an electrophysiological predictor of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor response. As the original equipment manufacturer and sole distributor, Compumedics will provide its proprietary Neuroscan SynAmps RT technology to integrate with an existing MagLink System utilized in the study and allow a second VA study site to maintain research data continuity and integrity. The award was made on a sole source basis as Compumedics is considered the only responsible source able to meet the government's requirement for the specified equipment required to advance the described research program.
