The Bureau of Land Management awarded a purchase order to ABR, Inc. for $44,915 on September 21, 2026, to conduct an Alaska Marmot Survey on BLM-managed lands in the Central Yukon Field Office through September 27, 2027.
Work is performed in the Central Yukon Field Office study area, including the Kokrine Hills and Ray Mountains/Hodzana Hills regions, with delivery to the BLM-AK Fairbanks District Office. The contractor will locate and map marmot colonies on BLM-managed lands and refine an Alaska marmot habitat suitability model previously developed by ABR under government contract. Field surveys must occur during snow-free months (mid-April through September) and include habitat quality assessment, site-specific physiographic data collection, and model refinement. Deliverables include a summary report documenting survey methods and findings and a Map Exchange Document with data layers for marmot colony locations. The award was sole-source justified on continuity and data compatibility with ABR's prior model development work.
