The Department of the Interior's United States Geological Survey awarded Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium a firm fixed-price purchase order for $196,000 under the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System. The contract calls for Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium to provide research vessel charter rental and technical services through October 9, 2022 utilizing its UNOLS research vessel R/V Pelican. Services will support seafloor mapping and geophysical imaging across the Mississippi River Delta Front to inform the Federal government's multi-agency seafloor hazards assessment program.
