The Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service has awarded a $28,725.00 firm fixed-price purchase order to Star-Oddi, a for-profit manufacturer of specialized data logging devices, for the supply of DST nano-T temperature archival tags. The tags will be used in climate resiliency projects to monitor fish passage and inform prioritization decisions for coldwater stream systems. The award was made through a sole source process, as Star-Oddi is the only source for the required nano-T tags, which are the smallest implantable temperature tags on the market. The original contract opportunity was posted as a special notice, and there was no small business set-aside designation. Star-Oddi has previously held prime contracts with various federal agencies, including NOAA, USGS, and the Smithsonian, for the provision of similar specialized data logging products.
