The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded a $90,000 firm fixed-price purchase order to Centro De Gestao De Pesquisa, Desenvolvimento E Inovacao (CGPDI), a non-profit organization in Brazil, to collect 450 air samples over the Amazon rainforest. This sole-source contract was awarded under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and had no set-aside designation. NOAA determined that CGPDI was the sole entity in Brazil or Latin America capable of meeting the requirements for the high-precision, high-accuracy greenhouse gas measurements needed for NOAA's Carbon Tracker data assimilation system. The period of performance for this service was from the award date of July 17, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
