The U.S. Forest Service, Region 9 (Eastern Region), awarded a purchase order to ERO Resources Corporation, a woman-owned small business, on September 23, 2026, for a heritage and cultural resources survey on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest with a ceiling value of $114,708.24 under a Total Small Business set-aside.
Performance is located in Spooner, Wisconsin. The contractor will conduct field inventories to identify, record, and evaluate cultural and heritage resources—pre-contact and post-contact materials 50 years of age or older—across approximately 2,184 acres designated within the Peerless Vegetation Management EA on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The Principal Investigator must meet Secretary of the Interior professional archaeology standards under 36 CFR 61; the Project Archaeologist/Field Director must meet Register of Professional Archaeologists criteria. All field personnel require relevant archaeology or anthropology education or experience. Payment is structured in four milestones: 15 percent upon research design acceptance, 45 percent upon fieldwork completion, 25 percent upon draft report acceptance, and 15 percent upon final deliverable acceptance. The period of performance runs through September 22, 2027.
