Description
Edward waters college, an hbcu in jacksonville florida, is submitting a proposal to participate in the NASA program for middle and high school students. We intend to bring thirty students from middle and high school (grade eight through grade twelve)from the jacksonville area to the kennedy space center to experience the possible opportunities that NASA has to offer to our group of students. Most of these students come from duval county and the surrounding counties in the northeast quadrant of florida. Edward waters college will be working with disadvantaged and at risk youth to bring opportunities for college exploration in the fields of math and science. We currently serve students from all over the state of florida and the united states, as well as international students from the bahamas, haiti, jamaica and malaysia. . The NASA proposal is a perfect opportunity to open our doors for partnerships with the private middle and high schools as well as offer services to the public charter schools of jacksonville.
