Description
The boonshoft museum of discovery's four-year project will install a new 1,100 SQ. FT. Exoplanets exploration exhibition in the astronomy wing of the museum and develop and circulate a traveling component. The exhibition will educate participants about the discovery of exoplanets, the science necessary for their discoveries, and the methods used in the search missions. All components of the exhibition will address relevant ohio academic content standards for earth and space science, based on national science standards. In addition, educational support materials keyed to the exhibition components will be available for educators/parents/caregivers who wish to use them in classrooms, in the home, or other learning venues. Overall, one of the most important, unique and innovative aspects of the exhibition will be its integration into all aspects of stem and space-related programming at the museum. This will occur by linking exoplanets exploration in a systematic way to school visits, distance learning, the stem initiative, the reaching out with robotics initiative, first lego league, summer discovery camps, the afterschool science club, and no limits! Science for kids.
