About this award

The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) awarded an Other Transaction Agreement to Verus Research, LLC for $56.9 million on February 2, 2023, to develop the Cornerstone OTA Radiation Combined Environments Test Capability (RCETC), with performance completion scheduled for September 15, 2027. This OTA sits outside the FAR and represents a research and development effort to establish advanced radiation testing infrastructure. Work is performed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Verus Research assembled a multi-vendor team including Improve Group, Inc. for architecture, engineering services, and facility improvements; Dielectric Sciences, Inc. for high-voltage cable assemblies; TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. High Power Division for power supplies; Alpha-Omega Power Technologies for high-voltage trigger systems; Inter Lakes Bases Inc. for module frame weldments; and Hoonify Technologies Inc. for cloud-based high-performance computing resources. Subcontract awards span October 2024 through December 2025 and cover discrete subsystems and components for the Orthrus module and associated testing chambers, including tritium subsystem equipment, radiation shielding, frame assemblies, and electrical transmission infrastructure.

Treas Engineering, Inc. supported the prime on initial trade space analysis and risk documentation for threshold requirements, including supply chain and schedule impact assessments delivered to Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division.
