Description

The purpose of the proposed work is to support NASA's firesense wildland fire smoke research at merritt island national wildlife refuge (minwr), florida, as part of NASA's earth action strategy. The firesense program's focus on delivering NASA science and technology to wildland fire agencies and practitioners, creates opportunities for multidisciplinary engagement through on-site and live wildland fire research. The ember alliance (tea) houses the integrated research management team (irmt), a team composed of wildland fire experts who support the CO-production of wildland fire science. The firesense program has indicated significant interest in irmt support for their planned collaborative live fire/smoke research. Wildland fire work environments are inherently hazardous, and where science and wildland fire operations in the U.S. Intersect, live-fire research activities generally must be accompanied by on-the-ground wildland fire operational expertise to safely navigate the wildland fire environment.
