Description

Vehicle event data recorder - the purpose of this overall task is to develop an improved design, based on the vbdr, and test a common vehicle event data recorder (VEDR) system architecture for this technology. The primary objective is to demonstrate the system S ability to record data during vehicle crash, roll-over and blast/IED events, which will be integrated into the occupant centric protection (OCP) technology-enabled capabilities demonstration (TECD) vehicles. This effort will include the conceptual design of two (2) separate VEDR system configurations for two (2) individual vehicle platforms for a total of four (4) separate conceptual VEDR system configuration designs. Each separate configuration will be designed to gather different sets of data from a blast event, such as an improvised explosive device (IED) event. The government will select one VEDR system configuration design per vehicle platform for purposes of fabrication, demonstration, and validation. One (1) VEDR systems will be assembled for up two (2) vehicle platform based on the selected sensor suite configuration for a total of two (2) assembled VEDR systems for testing. These efforts shall also include validating the system specifications and the development of the software required to download the data recorded by the VEDR systems.
