A robotic laser coating removal system capable of selective removal of coatings from the outer surfaces of military aircraft has been designed and constructed by the AFRL. Prove out of robotic laser coating removal technology throughout the U.S. Air force (USAF), and ultimately DOD, could provide potential cost savings with improved operations, throughput, and reduced environmental risk to the depot process. All demval related activities shall be summarized, as well as recommendations for potential technology transfer transition, in a comprehensive final report. Option 1 will develop and demonstrate in a production environment an automated laser coating removal system for use on attack aircraft, specifically a-10 aircraft that are processed at OO-ALC, with the results intended to be used in the transition of the automated laser coating removal system for a-10 aircraft at OO-ALC. All activities shall be summarized, as well as recommendations for potential technology transfer, in a comprehensive final report. Option 1 to be executed twelve months (12) after award of task order upon receipt of funding and shall be completed within twenty-four months (24).
