Batteries DALC 2015-2020
Added: Jan 21, 2015 4:46 pm The Denver Acquisition and Logistics Center (DALC) is a national distribution center which serves many eligible veterans by distributing hearing aid batteries and other prosthetic items worldwide. The DALC is the VA organization that procures batteries, stocks them in its warehouse and ships them to authorized veterans and VA clinics to support the ever growing demand for VA prescribed medical device needs. The DALC's customers include VA's Audiology and Speech Pathology Service, Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service, Blind Rehabilitation Service, other VA services, and other Government agencies. The batteries provided to our veterans range in various sizes and types based on the medical device needs. The current contracts expire on August 31, 2015 and this effort is to continue providing power to the veteran's medical devices. The following acquisition plan has been developed for the requirement to re-procure the following types and sizes of batteries for the Department of Veterans Affairs: 2025, 2032, 2450, NIMH1604, NIMHAA, NIMHAAA, NIMHBA151, NIMHBA90, NIMHSERVOX, ZA10, ZA13, ZA312, ZA675HP, ZA10 Mercury Free, ZA13 Mercury Free, ZA312 Mercury Free, ZA675, ZA675 Mercury Free, ALK1604, ALKAA, ALKAAA, ALKAAAA, ALKC, ALKD, ALKLANTERN, and 123. The DALC has been providing veterans these items since at least 1999 successfully following this proven program. Awards will be made on a full and open competitive basis. It is expected that the solicitation will result in multiple, firm fixed price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts for a period of September 1, 2015, tough August 31, 2020, consisting of a base year and four (4) one-year options to be exercised at DALC discretion. It is expected there will be one award made per battery type. Delivery of required items within the delivery time frames of the contract is critical in order to maintain appropriate stock levels at the DALC. This ensures the DALC can meet the needs of the veterans and the facilities ordering against DALC contracts. Based on past history, a requirement for the offeror to submit a commitment letter between the battery manufacturer and distributor (offeror) will be required in the solicitation for those offerors who do not manufacture batteries. The letter shall include items, pricing, delivery time frame and contract periods the manufacturer is going to provide to the distributor/offeror. The solicitation is anticipated to be released on or about the 2nd of March 2015. VA79115R0004 Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19
