About this award
This federal contract award is for the "Transportation Systems Analysis Model (TSAM) - VII - Scenario and Mode Choice Enhancements" effort, which supports the Airspace Operations and Safety Program (AOSP) Portfolio and Systems Analysis Team (APST) at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Langley Research Center. The objective is to enhance TSAM's features and functionality to enable assessing various economic scenarios, support a telepresence travel mode, and evaluate more than 3 travel modes simultaneously. This task order, with a ceiling value of $155,086.10, continues work under multiple previous contract vehicles between NASA and the National Institute of Aerospace Associates (NIA), a non-profit research institute. The prime contractor, NIA, has subcontracted a portion of the work to Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech). This contract does not have a set-aside designation.
Description
"" "transportation systems analysis model (TSAM) - VII - scenario and mode choice enhancements" the objective of this development effort is to support the aosp (airspace operations and safety program) portfolio and systems analysis team (APST). The APST has been tasked with determining the benefits, cost, and risk associated with the aosp technology challenges. APST plans on using the transportation system analysis model (TSAM) for air traffic demand forecasting in these studies. TSAM requires a number of enhancements to its features and functionality to support this work. APST requires that TSAM have the ability to assess various economic scenarios, support a telepresence travel mode, and be able to assess more than 3 travel modes simultaneously. There are also maintenance tasks that need to be performed, such as updating databases with the latest available historical data or socioeconomic projections, and an aircraft demand modeling task. This task order continues the work efforts established under NIA cooperative agreement, NCC1-02043: activities 2550 and 2622; and IDIQ base contract NAS1-02117: task order NNL08AA42T; IDIQ base contract NNL08AA00B: task orders NNL08AD29T, NNL10AC61T, and NNL11AD23T; and IDIQ base contract NNL13AA08B: task orders NNL13AC02T and NNL14AB21T. In addition, TSAM has been assigned case number: LAR-18548-1.
