The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Langley Research Center awarded a $1.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order contract to National Institute Of Aerospace Associates for system analysis of electrified propulsion systems for subsonic transports beyond 2030. The prime contractor will perform system and uncertainty analysis on relevant electrified propulsion technologies to identify options, establish performance metrics, and develop task plans for the Agency's Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration program. Work will be conducted at the prime's facility in Hampton, Virginia over a 13-month period ending in May 2021. Georgia TECH Research Corporation was selected as a major subcontractor to assist with identifying technologies and defining demonstration objectives for NASA's efforts to advance electrified aircraft propulsion.
