About this award

This is a cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order awarded by NASA's Langley Research Center to The Aerospace Corporation, a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC). The contract is for the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC) to conduct a peer review of Exploration Systems Development (ESD) activities, including integrated vehicle modal testing, model correlation, development flight instrumentation, and flight loads readiness. The scope is to identify concerns and gaps in plans and schedules that affect the programs' ability to support integrated system verification loads analyses for Exploration Missions 1 and 2, and propose mitigations. The contract has a ceiling value of $395,821.00 and a period of performance through September 30, 2019. This effort is not associated with a set-aside contract. The Aerospace Corporation is the prime contractor, and there are no major subcontractors mentioned.

Description

" NASA engineering and safety center (nesc) peer review of exploration systems development (ESD) integrated vehicle modal test, model correlation, development flight instrumentation (DFI) and flight loads readiness " - the scope of this effort is for the contractor to identify concerns and gaps within the plans and schedules that affect the programs' ability to support integrated system verification loads analyses for EM-1, EM-2, and subsequent missions. The team is also expected to propose mitigations by test or analysis that address the concerns or gaps identified. IT is not within the scope of this task to develop detailed alternate test or analysis plans, schedules, or cost estimates. The related areas of vibroacoustics and shock modeling, analysis, and testing are also out-of-scope for this peer review.
