Description
NASA's cost analysis division (CAD) has established a number of initiatives to improve its cost estimating capabilities. Tools that provide reliable cost estimates early in the conceptual design phase can aid in the avoidance of cost overruns and schedule slips later in the life cycle. Parametric cost estimates provide a measure of confidence in the predicted project cost and additionally can serve as a reality check on grass roots estimates. To support this estimating effort, the CAD is collecting data to that has been a) identified to drive cost and/or b) items not well understood. As part of the agency's cost and schedule improvement initiative (cscii), there has been a request by the agency's community to better understand the costs of hosting government instruments on commercial and ISS platforms. This task seeks to survey the community and collect data associated with hosting government instruments on commercial and ISS platforms
