Description
NASA headquarters - space technology mission directorate (stmd) strategy implementation planning review support. The objective of this task is to prepare a comprehensive briefing that communicates NASA stmd s strategic plan for review by NASA s strategy implementation planning (SIP). The objective of this SIP briefing is to present the direction of the newly created stmd, and show where technology investments will be directed over the next 10-20 years. The briefing will seek to answer key strategic questions. Specific subtasks of this activity are: 1. In a joint effort with NASA s stmd, aerospace will identify and select an outline and structure as well as required content for the SIP briefing. Aerospace will also initiate plans for a possible day long workshop to gather input from representatives of the various SIP stakeholder organizations. Aerospace will also identify a list of documents that NASA stmd may need to provide. Aerospace shall ascertain what content exists and what content needs to be created. NASA s stmd will provide access to pertinent NASA documents and reports for aerospace to review and assess what content already exists. 2. Aerospace shall review industry, NASA, DOD and other government agency data, reports and material to develop required elements for the briefing. Aerospace will comment on gaps in available information, future mission capability areas that are not addressed by technology plans, and synergy in technology investments with DOD and other agencies. Aerospace will also provide independent feedback on NASA s strategic space technology investment plan. 3. Aerospace shall interact with NASA s strategic integration and analysis group and other groups as needed, to crosswalk the findings of the data collection and review from subtask 2. As directed by NASA s stmd, aerospace shall facilitate a one day workshop to gather feedback and input from other NASA working groups and stakeholders, such as the space technology management council. Aerospace shall summarize overall trends in space technology roles and investments in the global as well as domestic aerospace industry
