Description

The work performed under this task order will substantially support the NPS in its overall effort to develop standardized and replicable transportation planning processes, procedures and policies at the unit, region and national levels. The scope for this task order will need to address current and ongoing efforts by the NPS, federal highway administration (FHWA), federal transit administration (FTA), and other agencies and interests engaged in long-range transportation planning for federal land management agencies. IT will need to build upon and link to those current and ongoing efforts, supplement them as necessary, and develop servicewide NPS processes and procedures that are derived from current, and new best practices developed under this task order, as appropriate. IT will recognize planning processes and procedures consistent with those in the state and metropolitan transportation planning realm; yet also recognize the unique attributes of NPS planning processes and requirements and, specifically, those requirements within the park facility management division which provides NPS transportation planning administrative oversight.
