About this award
This federal contract award to Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. is for the "Assessment of Unmanned Marine Vehicles for Coast Guard Missions". The $275,489.71 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract requires the contractor to (1) review government programs developing or employing long-endurance unmanned marine vehicle (UMV) systems, their sensors, classification software, and communication links; and (2) analyze the applicability of those systems to Coast Guard missions. Based on this review and analysis, the contractor will prepare a rough order of magnitude (ROM) business case for Coast Guard application of UMVs and a cost estimate for a demonstration project. This contract is not set-aside and is awarded under the Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) program area. Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. is a leading provider of management, technology, and engineering services to the U.S. government, with a strong track record of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and other federal agencies.
Description
Assessment of unmanned marine vehicles for coast guard missions the scope of this statement of work (SOW) includes (1) a review of government programs developing or employing systems of long-endurance (weeks or months) UMV (e.g., subsurface and surface gliders), their sensors, classification software, and communication links; and, (2) analysis of the applicability of those systems to CG missions. Based upon the review of government programs, augmented if necessary by academic research programs that are utilizing COTS UMV, consultation with CG mission subject matter experts (SMES), and mission analysis, the project would prepare a rough order of magnitude (ROM) business case for CG application of UMV and a cost estimate for a demonstration project.
