About this award
This delivery order, awarded to Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) on July 1, 2019, provides up to $10 million in cost-plus-fixed-fee support services for the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate's Space Command and Control Technologies (SC2T) program through March 31, 2022. The SC2T program develops comprehensive technologies to support space Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) capabilities, including mission applications and software integration environments. Under this task order, SDL will conduct research, development, and testing activities to advance space BMC2 capabilities, with all resulting documentation, analysis, algorithms, and simulation results conveyed to the government with unlimited data rights. The contract contains no small business set-aside designation and is funded by the Missile Defense Agency.
SDL, a non-profit applied research laboratory affiliated with Utah State University and headquartered in North Logan, Utah, is well-positioned to execute this work given its extensive experience providing advanced technical services to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. The work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama, and represents a task order under SDL's broader relationship with the Missile Defense Agency. SDL maintains significant federal contract vehicles including a $2 billion Space & Nuclear Advanced Prototypes, Experiments & Technology Development (SNAPET) contract with the Air Force Research Laboratory, enabling the organization to deliver comprehensive research, engineering, integration, and testing support across critical space and defense domains.
