Description

The DDW directorate transitions MDA developed capabilities to the military services for employment in support of cocom priorities to achieve effective ballistic missile defense (BMD) of the homeland. The NCR MOC and the hmoc are administratively controlled by ddwo, current operations. Factors that determine both MOC and hmoc watch requirements include the current operational climate, bmds readiness condition (redcon) levels, and other significant events to include increased levels of readiness, as directed by the director, deputy director, or executive director. Additionally, they serve as fusion centers for warfighter strategic support efforts in support of OSD, joint staff, and service requests and tasking responses. The MOC and the hmoc work in close coordination with bmds watch officers (BWO) in the OSC at the mdioc in colorado springs, CO and watch officers in the aegis BMD cell at the dahlgren division of the naval surface warfare center, VA.
