The contract is set aside for small businesses.
Description
The PN region currently utilizes an eaton brand battery backup system for its computer servers. This current system consists of one battery cabinet and fourty batteries. These batteries have reached their end of life and must be replaced. This need has occured at the same time as the FY15 regional office building renovation. As part of the renovation IT has been decided that the regional building phone system will be replaced with a voip system. The new voip system will also require a battery backup system. In order to have enough backup system capacity an additional cabinet and fourty more batteries must be procured, shipped, installed, and the new "expanded" system must be integrated/configured. Eaton brand equipment is the only brand that will integrate with the existing infrastructure. Further, the installation and configuration of the new pieces must be performed by eaton certified/qualified technicians to avoid compromising the manufacturers warranty.
