Description

Advanced space suit laboratory suit technician & engineering support this is a limited sole source award to ILC dover to acquire their services for engineering and technical support of the suit port activities for the advanced space suit laboratory. This justification seeks to justify the limited sole source status of ILC dover for these support services and the deliverables which will be developed from these activities. The description of this task is to provide suit technician and engineering services required per the suit port directed activities statement of work. The service requires expert suit technicians in the preparation, maintenance, and operations of the mockup suits and second generation suit port systems. The service also requires hardware and soft goods fabrication and a minimal amount of engineering expertise for suit port test system design and certification purposes (i.e., pressure systems certifications, etc.). The services included in the statement of work include the following: contract management, fabrication assembly maintenance and testing of required mockup suits and suit port systems, soft-goods fabrication, test procedural support, and engineering support. Suit technician and engineering services are required per the advanced suit laboratory suit technician and engineering support for suit port directed activities statement of work. ILC dover personnel at JSC maintain the ancillary suit support equipment for all the mockup suits that are required for testing the suit port as included in the advanced space suit laboratory suit technician and engineering support for suit port directed activities statement of work. ILC dover personnel at JSC are also capable of soft goods design and fabrication specifically for interfacing with EC5 development suits and hardware for test purposes and suit maintainability. Based on the continuous test operational readiness ILC dover field support group personnel over the past years, there is no single source that could provide the required continued level of expertise on these suit and suit port system
