Description

To provide the evaluation of emerging technology and the alignment of work with high priority PEO LS and marine corps technology development priorities. This effort shall focus on the continuation, further development, and enhancement of six primary tasks that consist of multiple, interrelated and supporting sub-tasks (as funding permits). These tasks include: power and energy to decrease demands on logistics systems by providing new ways to generate, store, and distribute power on the battlefield; fuel efficiency (energy conservation) to improve tactical wheeled vehicle (TWV) fuel efficiency and small unit energy self-sufficiency during long duration, distributed and enhanced company operations; modeling and simulation to shorten material development cycles and the ability to predict/counter enemy actions; enhanced safety, survivability, and force protection designed to improve the overall health and long-term sustainability of both marines and materiel in austere environments and under harsh conditions; persistent surveillance and sensors to improve battle space awareness in real and near-real time while decreasing the need for dedicated robotic operators and data analysts; and providing support to PEO LS in crafting strategies for materiel development that are sustainable and take into account fully burdened life-cycle costs and potential human health and environmental impacts.
